There's a demo laptop listed on the xen wiki> http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenDemoLaptop Quote: I put 2GB in my T42. One SODIMM goes on top of the motherboard and one beneath. The bottom one is easy to install; the top took quite a bit of dissembly. Some google searching located a service manual showing how to access the SODIMM socket. End Quote.
I have no idea why the group from Cambridge took this bush mechanic style step to upgrade an IBM T42! A friend of mine suggested an upgrade so instead of selling my T30's so I could by a MacBook, I decided to upgrade.
Well, after receiving the 2x 1Gb 200pin memory sockets, I promptly inserted them into the 2 memory sockets on my T30. Fantastico - Here's a picture to prove it. BTW: I'm running Linux - Ubuntu 6.06 LTS Dapper Drake - IBM Thinkpad T30 Mobile P4 - M CPU 1.8GHz. No need for a MacBook!

Scotland - Ice Climbing
Hello peeps!
Just looking through my archives and stumbled across some pics of my bro', Paul and our friend Deon, that I took when we went ice climbing in Scotland. The trip took place in Feb-March '04 where we were based in Fort William and did 2 climbs on the north east face of Aonoch Mor, the 3rd highest peak in the U.K. Each climb was approximately 120mtrs. The first climb was the 'Left Twin - G3 ***' and the second was the 'Right Twin - G2 ***'.
